Mission outreach is demonstrated in many ways both locally, nationally and throughout the world.
This is done through special monetary gifts, food, blankets, shoes, scholarships, medical supply
needs and many more that we are made aware of throughout the year.
We are also able to support Missionaries in their individual efforts.
For those of us who would prefer to be in a more hands on / active role, opportunities present
themselves in the form of various trips within the State as well as out of State.
We have supported the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Springfield, Illinois in helping to
organize emergency items to folks who need them all over the world. We have put together health
kits and school kits, new baby kits and flood buckets. We have built desks for the school children
of Haiti and fixed bikes which were sent to Liberia.
Our Youth, along with adult leadership have participated in:
- Mission trips to Crystal Springs Camp, & Wesley Woods Camps in Michigan to help with special projects and
to prepare the Camps for Summer attendees.
- Traveled to White Oaks,TN to address the needs of systemic and long term poverty by improving people's homes.
- Assisted with community projects for the Native Americans of northern Michigan at Kewadin Indian
Mission near Elk Lake, MI.
- Helped Jesus People USA in uptown Chicago with a service project.
- Join with other Methodist churches to help with multiple work projects at Moon Lake, organized by the Looking
Glass Community Services.
- And closer to home ---- have assisted community members with yard work, other areas of need and also provide
a weekly free community meal served on Wednesdays at 5:00pm.
- Youth and adults have volunteered to help restore hope and homes in the floodwater ravaged area of Nashville, TN.
With each of these trips we incorporate group worship and fun activities to enhance the opportunity for
faith and fellowship growth with other participants.
